The 30-second version
- Charge in, then Rend. Your fights start with a run and a bleed.
- Press Overpower whenever it lights up. It's cheap and hits hard.
- Don't spend all your Rage on Heroic Strike. Save it for your real attacks.
- You can't heal yourself much. Carry food and bandages, and start every fight with full health.
Is Warrior right for you?
How Rage works
Warriors don't use mana. They use Rage, which works the opposite way: it starts empty and fills up as you fight.
Rage tips
Rage drains away after a fight, so don't hoard it. Bloodrage (level 10) trades a little health for Rage; use it right before a fight. And watch out for Heroic Strike: it costs more than it looks, because that swing stops generating Rage. Only use it when your Rage bar is nearly full.
Stances
A stance is a fighting mode. Each one unlocks different abilities. As Arms, you'll spend almost all your time in Battle Stance.
Your home. Overpower, Charge, and most of your attacks work here.
Take less damage. Used for tanking. Also unlocks Taunt and Sunder Armor.
Unlocks Intercept, Berserker Rage, Pummel, and Whirlwind.
Do I lose Rage when I switch?
Switching stances throws away most of your Rage. The Improved Tactical Mastery talent (levels 19–23) lets you keep more of it.
Where every button goes
Each key has the same job for every class, so you always know where to look. The level shows when you get each ability; nothing ever moves once it's placed. (Not sure how to set up your keys? Start Here covers it.)
Keep these on a second bar
Things you use between fights, not during:
How to fight one enemy
Repeat this for every mob.
↺ Then pick the next target and start again.
What changes as you level
Remember to visit your trainer every 2 levels to learn new abilities.
Charge and Rend.
Defensive Stance quest and your first talent point.
Overpower: your best attack for a long time.
Slam, Cleave, and Victory Rush (a free heal after kills).
Berserker Stance quest and Sweeping Strikes (talent).
Mortal Strike, plate armor, and your first mount.
Max level. Tank or deal damage.
Which spec should you pick?
Warriors have three talent trees. For leveling, go Arms.
Arms
One big two-handed weapon, bleeds, and Mortal Strike.
- Best for: leveling solo
- Great against two enemies at once
Fury
A weapon in each hand and lots of fast attacks.
- Best for: damage in dungeons and raids
Protection
Shield up and keep enemies focused on you so your group stays safe.
- Best for: tanking dungeons
- Always in demand
Where to put each point
You get 1 talent point every level from 10 to 60. Slide to your level to see where your next point goes. Points marked ★ give you a new button.
How do I spend a talent point?
Press N to open your talents. Click a talent to put a point in it. Trees unlock row by row: you need 5 points in a tree to open the next row. Made a mistake? Your class trainer can reset your talents for a small fee.
Build: 33 Arms / 16 Fury / 2 Protection, from Icy Veins (updated Oct 21, 2026). Pre-launch; may change.
What to upgrade
When you get a new item, check it for these stats, in this order. Higher on the list matters more.
What armor can I wear?
Warriors wear mail, and plate from level 40. Any weapon type works: from level 37, the Weaponmaster talent gives a bonus for axes, maces, swords, and more. Just remember to practice with a new weapon type on easy enemies so your skill with it catches up.
- A two-handed weaponThe higher its damage, the better. This is your biggest upgrade, always.
- StrengthEvery point makes your hits harder.
- AgilityMore critical hits (and Overpower crits hurt).
- StaminaMore health, so you can take on harder fights before eating.

It only lights up for a few seconds.
Watch key . When it glows, press it.

Warriors can't heal mid-fight like other classes.
Eat or bandage first. Level First Aid for bandages.
Forgetting Battle Shout
It only lasts 3 minutes and is easy to miss.
Recast it before every fight.
Fighting big groups alone
Whirlwind looks fun, but 3+ enemies will overwhelm you solo.
Fight one or two at a time. Sweeping Strikes is made for two.
